Do I need restaurant experience to own an Rusty Taco franchise?

With a three-location franchise Development Agreement, franchise candidates should have multi-unit restaurant experience. If you’re part of an investment group, at least one group member should have this level of experience and serve as your Operating Principal. This experience gives the necessary management skills to launch and grow multiple restaurants.

What will I get when I purchase a taco franchise with Rusty Taco?

The Operating Principle and District Manager or Restaurant Manager will participate in our comprehensive, 28- to 35-day training at a corporate restaurant with on-the-job instruction. We also spend 10 days at your location prior to and during your grand opening. Alongside this training and support, you’ll have access to our comprehensive operations materials and extensive knowledge of the fast casual restaurant industry.

How much does a three-location Development Agreement cost?

The initial start-up costs range from $512,425 to $782,540. This includes an initial franchise fee for your first location ($25,000). For each additional location to be developed under the development agreement, you will pay a franchisee fee of $12,500 — 50% of the initial franchise fee.

Are there ongoing fees paid to the franchisor?

Franchisees pay royalties of 5% of weekly gross sales to the franchisor.

Are there any advertising fees?

The marketing for your grand opening will cost at least $10,000. Franchisees are required to spend at least 2% of their annual gross sales on local advertising.

Is financing available?

Direct financing is not available to franchisees. However, we may be able to provide references for qualified financing or lending resources.

What is the term of the franchise agreement?

The initial term of your franchise agreement is 10 years. If you are in good standing, you can renew for one additional 10-year term.
